Building Opportunities Together in the Virgin Islands

The partnership between Nucleos and the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections continues to create meaningful opportunities for education, connection, and growth throughout the territory. During a recent visit to the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Nucleos team spent time meeting directly with incarcerated learners, correctional officers, wardens, and leadership teams to better understand the impact educational access is having inside correctional facilities.
The visit highlighted the shared commitment between Nucleos and the Virgin Islands Bureau of Corrections to provide innovative learning opportunities that support rehabilitation, workforce readiness, and long-term success. Conversations with learners offered powerful insight into how access to education and technology is helping individuals build confidence, develop new skills, and prepare for a stronger future.
In addition to visiting correctional facilities, the Nucleos team also met with representatives from the University of the Virgin Islands to discuss the importance of collaboration in expanding educational pathways throughout the corrections system. These conversations reinforced the value of partnerships that connect education, technology, and reentry support in meaningful ways.
The trip served as another important step in the ongoing partnership and demonstrated the collective effort being made to create opportunities that extend far beyond incarceration.
